Anti-Social Networking

This evening myself and a few of the gang went to see ‘The Social Network’. I won’t bother explaining it as its been plastered all over the news/internet and the name kinda gives you a clue. Anyway afterwards we headed back for a brew and a chat about the film and other social networking sites. Jamie (aka @Jazzybam) mentioned a few creative or designer type ones, one of which I signed up to tonight (Instagram, its really an iPhone app but it does use social networking to share photos).

After seeing this film and talking about/using all these online social worlds I feel I should clean up my act and find a much cleaner way of sharing my online presence. For example this very post will get sent to Twitter and Facebook at the same time. At the moment I have this set up to do so, however if I connect my Twitter to Facebook the post then gets doubled in Facebook. But this is just 3 sites, imagine the confusion with 10 or more sites. As you can see this could become very confusing and extremely annoying to followers or friends receiving these updates.

So at some point I will take the time to map out the networks I use and create some kind of system or method to posting, rebloging, tweeting, sharing and uploading without irritation. Hopefully I’ll get round to this and be able to share it here on my blog.

Cheers, Dave
